920 DELAWARE
Built in 1910, the building was a rail spur and at one time held an ice manufacturer. For the current renovations we gutted the building, and restored the original windows and heavy planking industrial floor. We created an open stairwell for access from the parking below, and made an ADA accessible upper level entry. The new entry ways feature custom built doors, using walnut and reclaimed yellow pine from the remodel of nearby Poehler lofts. Bar details feature colorful print plates from neighboring Allen Press. The countertops are made of various reclaimed hardwoods, rough-sawn and salvaged from a barn near Topeka that we deconstructed. The interior furniture is designed by STRUCT/RESTRUCT as well. The stools are elm, oak, and boxelder.
Project completed Spring 2014.
920 Delaware is the current site of Decade coffee.
